Viseu is a city located in the Centro region of Portugal. It is a beautiful hilltop city located between the Serra do Caramulo and the Serra de Estrela mountain regions. Viseu has a population of 99,593 inhabitants (2011) and is 507.1 square kilometers in size. The city is well noted for its vibrant art scene and the activity of wine making.

The Historic Center in Viseu has been well maintained with hidden alleys, cobbled streets, and interesting corners. There are a number of mansions that are Baroque and Renaissance in design. The remnants of city gates are also located here. The main part of the center is the Gothic and Romanesque Se (Cathedral), which is one of the nicest in the entire country. Other places of interest include an Old Market in Rua Formosa, Porta dos Cavaleiros, Museum Grao Vasco, and Museum Casa Almeida Moreira.

Viseu is serviced by the Francisco de Sa Carneiro Airport (OPO), informally known as the Porto Airport. It is located approximately 92.45 kilometers from the center of the city.
